These art classes are fun, creative, and all about experimenting, playing, and making something you’re proud of. Each class offers a unique, hands-on experience in a relaxed, no-pressure environment where you’ll explore acrylic painting, mixed media, collage, and found materials—building skills naturally along the way. Open to all skill levels, it’s the perfect space to try something new and enjoy the process.

Classes include Getting Loose: Intuitive Painting, focused on breaking perfectionist habits and loosening your approach through timed rounds of mark-making, quick decisions, and layered composition as you work across the entire canvas; Collage Landscape, combining paper, paint, and imagery to create rich, textured scenes; Beaded Wall Hanging, where you’ll design a one-of-a-kind piece using beads, natural materials, and found objects; and Paint Your Pet, where you’ll learn some basic painting techniques—including color mixing and simplifying shapes—to turn your pet’s photo into a personalized portrait. (We will be reaching out to those who register for this session to obtain a photo of your pet or favorite animal. This will allow the instructor to print it out and have it ready for your class activity.)

Whether you’re looking to try something new, grow your creativity, or just enjoy a fun night out, these classes are all about making art in an approachable, engaging way—no experience needed.

Anyone under 18 will have to register by completing a Continuing Education registration form and signing the Student Education Records Acknowledgement Form. Walk-in registration is recommended. If you need assistance with registration, please call (704) 922-6232.

 

Notes when using Online registration:

If you have an address change, name change, etc., we will need this updated information so we can contact you in case of a class change/cancellation or refund. Entering different information on the registration form will not update any existing records. You cannot DROP/WITHDRAW from classes using Self-Service. If you need to drop or withdraw before the class start date, please contact the Registration Department at [email protected].

Refund Policy

If a student officially drops from a class or classes before the 10 percent date of the class(es), a 75 percent tuition refund will be given for the class(es) dropped. A 100% refund will be made if the student drops from the class before the class start date. No refunds will be given after the 10 percent date. If a course fails to materialize, refunds are automatically processed. (The refund policy is subject to change.
