Developed by our own nursing faculty, Gaston College is the only N.C. Community College to offer this course through its workforce development/continuing education department. The NEED Certificate program is for current and potential nursing instructors in North Carolina. It should be completed prior to or within the first three years of employment.

Flexibility, Convenience and Affordability for Faculty Educators

You can increase your mastery of teaching skills with this online, 45-hour/12-week program that runs from January 31 through May 6. The fee for the program is $135 and includes tuition and a certificate verifying course completion and credits earned.

As specified by NCBON, this course gives you practical approaches for instructive and clinical teaching, accessible technology to support teaching, and discussion regarding effective uses of evaluation outcomes.

Apply Hours toward License Renewal

15 contact hours can be applied toward continuing competence requirements for renewing your license.
