For the month of February 2026, the Gaston College Libraries book display will celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Black History Month. One particular book is about Lena Thorne, an actress that many consider to be Hollywood’s first African-American actress. The ultimate goal of the collection is to honor the voices, achievements, and enduring contributions of Black Americans throughout history.
