NC State Breathing Equipment/Firefighter Survival School class

This course is the premier fire training school that prepares experienced firefighters to operate in smoke and heat conditions to create survivable environments during crisis situations. This is an advanced training class that is physically and psychologically demanding and is designed for capable and qualified individuals.

Class Schedule:

Classes are the second full week in March and October of each year.

Pre-Registration is required! Registration is through a managed lottery and that lottery process covers one fiscal year, October and March, and is open from April 1st, 8 am EST to April 15th, 8 am EST.

*Special Note: The March 2025 class is a standalone class and registration will be May 1st 2024 at 8 am to May 15th 2024 at 8 am EST.

Enrollment is limited to 60 participants per class

Maximum of two (2) students per agency will be accepted. You are encouraged to have as many firefighters within your agency apply with the knowledge that only two (2) per agency will be accepted.

There is a non-refundable registration fee of $350 per student and must be paid prior to the start of the school.  *Additional fee of $129 will be charged to students outside of North Carolina. Fees billed to the student upon acceptance.

Must be a certified firefighter for at least 3 years! Certification must meet the NFPA 1001, current edition, for Firefighter II.
