Join us for a tour to Paris, Bavaria & Vienna
This customized trip is designed for Gaston College alumni and community members looking to explore new cultures and sites around the world. Our Rhino Adventure trips are planned by our team along with an expert tour guide and include a balance of education and fun! ITINERARY OVERVIEW:
Day 1 – Wednesday, April 16
Departure from Charlotte
Day 2 – Thursday, April 17
Arrive in Paris in the morning. Spend the afternoon exploring Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Chapelle and Montmartre.
Day 3 – Friday, April 18
Take a trip to the top of Montparnasse Tower, visit Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe, visit the Army Museum and Tomb of Napoleon Bonaparte. Finish the day with a boat trip on the River Seine.
Day 4 – Saturday, April 19
Spend the day traveling to and discovering Versailles.
Day 5 – Sunday, April 20
Travel to Munich. Enjoy a guided walking tour through Munich’s Old Town and a visit to the Residence Palace.
Day 6 – Monday, April 21
Explore Nymphenburg Palace and return to Munich for the English Gardens in the afternoon.
Day 7 – Tuesday, April 22
Spend the morning at Castle Neuschwanstein.
Day 8 – Wednesday, April 23
Travel to the alpine village of Berchtesgaden and then on to Salzburg.
Day 9 – Thursday, April 24
Enjoy a walking tour of Old City Salzburg, and a visit to Mozart’s Birth House as well as Hohensalzburg Castle.
Day 10 – Friday, April 25
Travel to Vienna for an afternoon exploring Central Vienna, including Hofburg Palace and St. Stephens Cathedral.
Day 11 – Saturday, April 26
Enjoy a trip to Belvedere Palace in the morning followed by free time in the afternoon.
Day 12 – Sunday, April 27
Visit the Palace of Schonbrunn. The last afternoon you’ll be free to explore Vienna on your own.
Day 13 – Monday, April 28
Departure to Charlotte

Payment Information:
- Make a trip deposit of at least $600 by Monday, Sept. 16, 2024, to secure your spot on the trip.
- Pay 50% of the remaining balance by Monday, Dec. 2, 2024.
- The final payment of the remaining balance is due Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2025.
How to apply:
Step 1: Complete the interest form.
Step 2: We recommend that you have been vaccinated or have had a booster shot for Covid-19. Make copies of your shot records.
Step 3: If you do not have a passport, fill out the paperwork and get it submitted. It takes several months to get a passport back. Passports must be valid until at least six months after the trip.
Step 4: Make a $600 deposit at the College Business Office to hold your spot by Sept. 16, 2024. This will be applied to the total program cost ($100 of the deposit is non-refundable). Payments can be made in person or over the phone by calling 704.922.6435.
Step 5: Instructions for registering for the Continuing Education HUM 120 course for Fall 2024 will be sent out in a subsequent “Welcome” email. All participants must register for this class.
