Global Education is an important aspect of the Gaston College experience. Students, faculty and staff are afforded many opportunities to broaden their knowledge of other countries and cultures. The Global Education programs empowers students with awareness and knowledge of other countries, cultures and provides them with appreciation of diversity and respect for all people.

The goal of the Global Education program is to create opportunities that build and enhance global awareness, inspire cultural competence, stimulate personal ethical growth, and deepen intellectual inquiry within Gaston College students. The Gaston College Scholars of Global Distinction initiative (GCSGD) prepares students to be culturally competent global citizens in an increasingly global job market.
