Self-Service
HOW CAN I RETRIEVE MY SELF-SERVICE USER ID?
From the Self-Service page, click Self-Service on Forgot your user name. You will be directed to fill in your name and email address.
WHAT IS MY INITIAL SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD?
The initial default password is your birthday in a MMDDYY format. You will be required to change it during your initial login.
HOW CAN I RETRIEVE MY SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD?
From the Self-Service page, click Self-Service Forgot your password. You will be directed to fill in your user name and email address.
STUDENT ID NUMBER
WHERE CAN I FIND MY STUDENT ID NUMBER?
From the Self-Service page at https://www.gaston.edu/self-service/ , log into Self-Service. Click your User Name at the top of the page, then User Profile. Your Colleague ID will be displayed on the left.
STUDENT EMAIL
WHERE DO I ACCESS MY STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT?
You can sign into your student e-mail at www.outlook.com/mymail.gaston.edu.
WHAT IS MY STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS?
The format for your student email is Self-ServiceID@mymail.gaston.edu.
WHAT USERNAME AND PASSWORD DO I USE TO ACCESS MY STUDENT EMAIL FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Your username is your complete student email address and the default password is one of the following:
If you applied and were accepted on February 21, 2023 or before, your default password is capital GC# and your 7 digit Gaston College ID number. (ex. GC#0123456)
If you applied and were accepted on February 22, 2023 or after, your default password is GC ## your 7-digit GastonCollege ID GC##. There are no spaces and GC should be capitalized. (ex. GC##0123456GC##)
NETWORK LOGIN
WHAT DOES THE NETWORK LOGIN ACCESS?
The Network Login ID provides access to campus computers, print management, the GC wireless network and Blackboard.
WHAT IS MY NETWORK LOGIN USER NAME
Your Network Login User Name is the same as your Self-Service User Name.
WHAT IS MY NETWORK LOGIN PASSWORD

PRINT MANAGEMENT
WHAT IS PRINT MANAGEMENT
Print Management is a service instituted by Gaston College to significantly lower the cost and environmental impact of printing. Students are credit $10.00 per semester. Remaining credited balances do not roll over to the following semester. Any credits directly purchased by the student will roll to the following semester but will not be refunded.
WHAT IS MY USERNAME AND PASSWORD FOR PRINTING?
Your Network login credentials; the same username and password used to access a lab computer.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR PRINTING?
Black and White
Single sided – $0.10/per page
Duplex – $0.15/per sheet
Color
Single sided – $0.25/per page
Duplex – $0.35/per sheet
HOW DO I PUT MONEY ON MY ACCOUNT TO PRINT?
Students may add funds to their account via PayPal (using the print management window in the top right corner of the college computer screen) or at coin-op stations that are available in each of the libraries on the Dallas, Kimbrell and Lincoln campuses.
WHO SHOULD I TALK TO REGARDING ISSUES/CONCERNS WITH PRINTING?
Any questions concerning payments, credits, technical and non-technical matters, contact the Technology Services Office by phone at (704)-922-6420 or in person in the Comer Engineering Technology Building (CET), room 11.

HOW DO I PRINT FROM A WIRELESS DEVICE?
Use your web browser to upload and print a document to one of the supported campus printers.

PASSWORD MANAGEMENT (GCPASS)
WHAT IS PASSWORD MANAGEMENT?
Password Management gives you the capability of changing/resetting your password for email, lab login, printing, Wi-Fi and Blackboard.
HOW DO I ACCESS THE PASSWORD MANAGEMENT SYSTEM?
You may access the Password Management system at https://gcpassmgt.gaston.edu/.
