Gaston College Hosting Spring Virtual Open House on March 23, 2021
Gaston College will host a spring virtual open house for prospective students and their families to learn more about the outstanding programs, resources, and services available at the College.
The virtual open house will be interactive and similar to what students would expect to experience at an in-person event. Attendees will need a computer, tablet or cell phone to connect and attend the open house. The two-hour session will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m.
“Participants will log-into our customized and easy to use virtual platform,” said Tanisha Williams, Director of Admissions. “Each participant will have full access to live info sessions and information booths where they can learn more about the application process, student services, and more. Our staff and faculty will be available through live chat to answer questions and share information during the event,” said Williams.
Topics to be covered in live information sessions will include:
- Getting Started at Gaston College.
- Paying for College.
- High School Dual Enrollment.
- Programs of study and career prospects in those fields.
Approximately, 20 virtual booths will be available where attendees can get information about athletics, Gaston College radio WSGE 91.7 FM, learning resources, supportive services for students with disabilities, programs in the Health and Human Services, Arts and Sciences, Career and Technical Education from the College’s more than 100 programs of study.
“This is an ideal opportunity for open house attendees to learn more about the academic path that’s best suited for them, whether that be a transfer or career and technical education program,” said Dr. Audrey Sherrill, Vice President of Student Affairs. “High school students, parents, and other family members will have an opportunity to ask specific questions about the enrollment process and academic programs and learn about support services and resources that help students be successful.” said Dr. Sherrill.
All virtual open house participants will have the opportunity to enter to win prizes. Prizes include a $500 GC Scholarship, an iPad, Chick-fil-A gift cards, and Gaston College swag.
