TEAS Testing

Gaston College currently holds all TEAS testing sessions on the main campus on the second floor of the Craig Arts & Sciences Building in the Katherine Harper Testing Center located in room 209. See Directions tab for campus map. We offer the ATI TEAS Test. The cost of the exam is $55.

Preparing for ATI TEAS Test

The TEAS test is required for students applying to the following programs:

  • Medical Assisting
  • Registered Nursing (ADN)
  • Veterinary Medical Technology
  • Practical Nursing (LPN)
  • Phlebotomy (Certificate)

The test is taken on a computer and is scored immediately upon completion. A four function calculator is provided online with the test.

Students applying to the Medical Assisting, ADN, LPN, or Phlebotomy program take four timed sections. The sections are:

  • Reading: 64 minutes, 53 questions
  • Math: 54 minutes, 36 questions
  • Science: 63 minutes, 53 questions
  • English and Language Usage: 28 minutes, 28 questions

If the program of study requires all four sections, each section must be completed. Some schools (such as ECPI) only administer two sections of the test and we cannot accept partial TEAS scores.

Students applying to the Veterinary Medical Technology program take two timed sections. The sections are:

  • Math: 45 questions-56 minutes
  • Reading: 40 questions-50 minutes

Application deadlines and required TEAS test scores for applying to a specific program are available on the following program pages:
