Placement Testing Waiver
The placement test is required of all students seeking a degree, diploma or certificate. The placement test is waived only for students who meet any of the following criteria:
Students with SAT scores of at least 500 on Writing OR Critical Reading (before 2016) will be exempt from the reading and English portions of the placement test. SAT scores of at least 500 in mathematics (before 2016) will exempt students from the math sections of the placement test. Students with SAT scores of at least 480 on Reading AND Writing (2016 and after) will be exempt from the reading and English portions of the placement test. SAT scores at least 530 on Mathematics (2016 or after) will exempt students from the math sections of the placement test.
Students with a minimum score of 22 on the Reading OR an 18 on the English portions of the ACT are exempt from the reading and English portions of the placement test. Students with a minimum score of 22 on the mathematics portion of the ACT are exempt from the math sections of the placement test. Official SAT or ACT scores are needed to qualify for this waiver.
High School Unweighted GPA:
Students who have graduated from high school in the last 5 years, have an unweighted grade point average of 2.6 or higher AND have completed four eligible high school math courses will be considered for placement testing waiver. Students that demonstrate the necessary criterion will be waived from reading, English, and math portions of the placement test. Official high school transcript (in a sealed envelope) is needed to qualify for this waiver.
Students who have completed a college level math and/or English at another regionally accredited institution. College-issued transcript from institution is required for transfer credit to be awarded and waiver to be issued.
Appropriate Advanced Placement, College Level Exam Program (CLEP) exams, or the following placement test scores from another institution: ACCUPLACER, COMPASS, or ASSET. Official test scores are required for this waiver.

Students who apply for admission in person will receive information about placement testing dates/times upon receipt of their application. Children may not stay in the testing center while you are testing and may not be left unattended outside the center. Please make childcare arrangements for the day and time you plan to test. PHOTO IDENTIFICATION IS REQUIRED ON YOUR TEST DATE. Students are not allowed to test without photo identification.
