FAFSA Day Event at Gaston College

Those interested in applying for federal financial aid to attend college should plan to attend the FAFSA Day event hosted by Gaston College on Saturday, October 28, from 9 a.m. to noon. FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and this completed application is required to determine eligibility for state and federal aid to cover college costs.

At the event, presented by the College Foundation of North Carolina, the North Carolina Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and the State Employees’ Credit Union, financial aid professionals will offer free assistance in completing the FAFSA.

Attendees can register online to attend FAFSA Day by visiting www.cfnc.org/fafsaday, clicking on “Register for FAFSA Day,” and following instructions to register as a FAFSA Day participant.

Tax information for 2016 will be required in order to complete the FAFSA for the 2018-2019 academic year. That information can be accessed through the FAFSA. The financial aid professionals at the event can guide applicants through that process as well as the steps to secure the FSA ID that the student and one parent must have before signing the FAFSA.

The October 28 FAFSA Day event will take place in Room 209 of the Craig Building of the Dallas campus of Gaston College, 201 Highway 321 South, Dallas, North Carolina. For more information, contact Deborah Wingfield, Gaston College Financial Aid Specialist, at 704-922-6560.
