Rhinos Support Western NC
Since late September, Gaston College employees and students have rallied to support those affected by Hurricane Helene in western North Carolina. From collecting food to sorting and delivering supplies and raising funds for our partners, the commitment of our Rhinos has remained strong well into November.
The College is currently spearheading two projects this month and invites the community to get involved.

Emergency Fund Support for Haywood Community College
Gaston College and the Gaston College Foundation have joined forces with several other North Carolina Community Colleges to help Haywood Community College raise emergency funds. These funds will assist students and employees impacted by Hurricane Helene’s damage. The GC Foundation has established a fund for Haywood donations and will collect contributions through Nov. 22, 2024. 100% of the donations to this fund will be sent to the Haywood CC Foundation.
