Gaston College's Class of 2024 at Commencement on May 10, 2024

The 59th Commencement ceremony for Gaston College was held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at CaroMont Health Park in Gastonia, North Carolina.

The 1,225 graduates in the Gaston College Class of 2024 were honored at the ceremony. This is the largest graduating class in the nearly 60-year history of the College. The graduates received credentials, diplomas, or associate degrees from 69 curriculum programs. Approximately 650 graduates were recognized individually as they walked across the stage during the Presentation of Candidates.

In addressing the Class of 2024, Dr. Hauser said, “Your time as a student at Gaston has been filled with moments. Some of those moments were amazing, joyous, and fun. Others were disappointing, hard, and sometimes even sad. You’ve had small moments, big moments, and I know many of you have experienced life-changing moments during your time here. All these moments are part of your story, and I promise you that there’s more to write. And we can’t wait to see where it goes for each of you.”

Dr. Hauser continued, “You are part of my story, and I’m proud to stand up here today as the seventh president of Gaston College, in front of our largest graduating class ever, to experience this special moment with all of you. Keep making new moments, keep enjoying those moments you experience, and always keep learning from your moments. Class of 2024, take your momentum and go do big things. We know you’re ready for it.”
