WSGE wins 2023 station of the year award

WSGE 91.7 FM, Gaston College’s volunteer-driven radio station, won the Cammy Award as the 2023 Radio Station of the year at the Carolina Beach Music Awards event held in November in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The station had been named the FM Station of the Year six times prior to the 2023 awards (in 2020, the FM Station of the Year and the AM Station of the Year awards were consolidated). 

“We are so proud to win this award for the seventh time,” said Cathis Hall, WSGE Station Manager. The dedication of our volunteer beach deejays and the support of our listeners make it possible for us to earn this recognition.”
