The GED® Test is the test students take to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma.

When a student reaches the High School Equivalency level the student and instructor work closely to prepare for practice and official GED® testing.

The instructor will refer a student to take the following tests:

  • Post TABE Test
  • Career Readiness Certificate testing (link to CRC page)
  • GED® Ready Test (practice test)
  • Official GED® Test

Students enrolled in Gaston College’s ABE/HSE Program will receive a scholarship voucher of $30.00 to pay for the CRC Tests, $24.00 to pay for the GED® Ready Tests, and $80.00 to pay for Official GED® Tests.

In order to take a practice or official test, which the college is paying for, the student, must be enrolled in the current semester.
