The 16-hour TEAS Prep course provides a review of content that you can expect to be tested on during the TEAS test and how to prepare yourself to take this test.  This class is a study guide and should not be viewed as a stand-alone method of test preparation, but an additional tool to assist in your success on the test.  A TEAS prep study guide manual is included in the cost of the course tuition and should also be used as an additional tool to study outside of class.

The TEAS Prep course reviews a broad range of skills in the topics of Reading, Mathematics, Science and English/Language, that you should have previously developed over the course of your academic career.  You may need to review some of your prior class notes, textbooks or online sources for additional information and practice.  In the provided TEAS Prep study manual, you will find a list of websites offering practice test websites as well as study material, although they may be offered at an additional cost.  These resources are not required, but can be used as extra preparation if you choose.  Gaston College cannot offer recommendations on these sites as they are not offered through our organization.

The TEAS Prep class and study manual have been organized and based on the test plan for the ATI TEAS.  It is our intent that they will help you target your studies for success on the test.  Each section in the Reading, Mathematics, Science and English/Language chapters provide an overview of the objectives, most important concepts, key terms, definitions, study recommendations and practice questions.

Before enrolling in this course, we encourage you to be aware of the minimum composite score requirements on the ATI TEAS for your field of study.  Each field of study within the Health and Human Services Program at Gaston College have different scores required to submit an application.  Scores must be current within five (5) years from the date of program admission.  TEAS test retakes have different requirements according to which program you want to enroll in.

Please keep in mind, the ATI TEAS test is a standardized method of testing academic preparedness for entrance into a chosen field of study.
