Visiting/Special Credit Students

Special Credit & Visiting Students
Students who wish to take credit courses without completing a full program of study are classified as Special Credit. Students enrolled at another college or university who plan to transfer credits back to their home institution are classified as Visiting Students.
- Admission requires advisor approval.
- A maximum of 15 credit hours may be earned before declaring a major or program of study.
- Tuition and fees are the same as regular curriculum students.
- Financial aid is not available for Special Credit or Visiting Students.
How to Enroll
- Apply Online
- Complete the free general admissions application.
- Under Enrollment Information, select either:
- Special Credit/Non-Degree Seeking Student
- Special Credit/Visiting Student from Another Institution
- Submit Transcripts (if required)
- Only needed if the course has prerequisites met at another institution or with proof of a high school GPA of 2.8+.
- Mail transcripts to: Gaston College, Office of Admissions, 201 Hwy 321 South, Dallas, NC 28034
- Or send electronically via an approved service to [email protected]
- Complete Orientation
- New students must complete the online orientation.
- Instructions will be emailed once your student account is created.
- After orientation, you may schedule a meeting with your assigned academic advisor.
