
Visiting/Special Credit Students

Students wishing to register for credit courses but have no intention of completing a program of study will be classified as Special Credit or Visiting students and may be admitted to credit classes with an advisor’s approval. Students registered as Special Credit or Visiting Students may earn a maximum of 15 credit hours before having to declare a curriculum major or program of study. Tuition and fees are the same as for regular curriculum students. Students listed in the Special Credit or Visiting major code cannot receive financial aid.
To enroll as a Special Credit Non-Degree Seeking or Special Credit Visiting Student, complete the following:
- Submit your free general admissions application online.
- On the Enrollment Information tab in the Enrollment Term section, select “Special Credit/Non-Degree Seeking Student’ or “Special Credit/Visiting Student from Another Institution” as your program of study/major.
TRANSCRIPT
- Transcripts are not require unless the course to be taken with Gaston College has a prerequisite that was met at another institution or met with proof of an unweighted final high school GPA of 2.8 or above. If a transcript is required, send to*:

ORIENTATION
- Students who have never taken a course at Gaston College are required to complete the online orientation.
- Once your student account is created, an email will be sent to your personal email address with instructions on how to access the online orientation along with other special instructions.
- Upon completion of the online orientation, you will have an opportunity to schedule a meeting with your assigned academic advisor.
