GED® /HSE Testing

The GED® Test is the test students take to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma.

When a student reaches the High School Equivalency level the student and instructor work closely to prepare for practice and official GED® testing.

The instructor will refer a student to take the following tests:

• Post TABE Test
• GED® Ready Test (practice test)
• Official GED® Test

Students enrolled in Gaston College’s ABE/HSE Program can receive scholarships for GED Ready tests and Official GED Tests, if they meet attendance and academic requirements. Students that do not meet scholarship requirements can self-pay for GED Ready Tests, $8.00 each, and Official GED, $26.00 each. 

In order to take a practice or official test, which the college is paying for, the student, must be enrolled in the current semester.
