Meet Our Advisors

Alyson Jordan has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Wingate University. Since she began working at Gaston College in 2011, Alyson has worked solely with transfer students and faculty members. She is the resident transfer graduation expert, aside from the Dean of Arts and Sciences. She believes her role as a Transfer Advisor is quite fitting, considering her high school guidance counselor gave her an award because she applied to more universities than any other student in her graduating class. Alyson understands indecisiveness and strives to encourage students as they pursue their dreams.

Tammy McIntyre received her Master of Science degree in Student Development and Counseling in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University.  She is passionate about her career in Student Affairs and has held positions in Student Activities, Career Counseling as well as Academic Advising.  Drawing upon her experience at both the community college and university level, Tammy is well suited for her work in the Transfer Advising Center.  She uses a holistic advising approach and encourages students to be active partners in their academic planning. Her goal is to provide an engaging learning environment while empowering students to achieve their academic goals.  Tammy is dedicated to building meaningful connections with students, faculty, and staff. She believes those relationships foster growth and inspire students to become lifelong learners.  In addition to building connections at Gaston College, Tammy enjoys serving as a liaison for students and university admissions representatives.
