Session Law 2011-145, the Appropriations Act of 2011, authorized the State Board of Education and the State Board of Community Colleges to establish the Career and College Promise Program (CCP).  CCP provides seamless dual enrollment educational opportunities tuition free for eligible North Carolina high school students, allowing them to accelerate completion of college certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees that lead to college transfer or provide entry-level job skills.

Gaston College’s Career & College Promise (CCP) Program allows eligible high school students to enroll in college classes at Gaston College. Students can earn college credit they can take with them after graduation. In many cases, students can also earn dual credit – meeting high school graduation requirements with college courses. Career & College Promise offers high school students options to pursue educational and career goals of their choice through the following opportunities: College Transfer – Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at a community college or university. Career & Technical Education – Allows students to begin a certification or diploma program in a particular technical field or career area. Additionally, Gaston Early College High School, located on the Dallas Campus of Gaston College, offers Gaston County students a unique opportunity to receive a high school diploma while earning an Associate of Arts degree from Gaston College.
