Session Law 2011-145, the Appropriations Act of 2011, authorized the State Board of Education and the State Board of Community Colleges to establish the Career and College Promise Program (CCP).  CCP provides seamless dual enrollment educational opportunities tuition free for eligible North Carolina high school students, allowing them to accelerate completion of college certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees that lead to college transfer or provide entry-level job skills.

Gaston College offers the following CCP pathways for eligible high school students:

  • College Transfer Pathways leading to a minimum of 32 hours of college transfer credit in Pathways Leading to the Associate in Arts (P1012C), the Associate in Engineering (P1052C), or the Associate in Science (P1042C).
  • Career and Technical Education Pathways leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree in Automotive Systems Technology (C60160P), Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration – Heat Pump Certification (C35100BP), Biotechnology (D20100P), Business Administration – Small Business Management (C25120P), Computer Information Technology (C25260P), Computer Integrated Machining Technology (C50210P), Cosmetology (C55140P), Criminal Justice (C55180P), Electrical Systems Technology – Industrial Wiring (C35130P), Electronics Engineering Technology (C40200P), Emergency Medical Science (C45340P), Esthetics (C55230P), Fire Protection Technology (C55240P), Healthcare Business Informatics (C25510P), Latent Evidence (C5518AP), Mechatronics Engineering Technology (C40350P), Nurse Aide (D45970P), Office Administration (C25370AP), Paralegal Technology (C25380P), and Welding Technology (C50420P);
  • A Cooperative Innovative High School Pathway approved under Part 9 of Article 16 of Chapter 115C of the General Statutes (early college program).
