In this course, color defining variables are discussed, which includes color matching light sources, primary colors and the items required to generate a color response. It also examines the following:
- Properties of natural, synthetic and semi-synthetic fibers/fiber blends and the types of dyes and colorants required for each type of fiber.
- Dyeing preparation and dyeing methods (including the four major types of fabric printing) for all types of fibers, yarns and fabrics.
- Mechanical and Chemical types of finishing, and quality control testing for dyed/finished fabrics.
- Understanding of dye process optimization and effluent (waste water) treatment.
