Citation Guides<\/h2>\n

Citation styles are formatting rules for citing other authors\u2019 work within your paper (in-text or parenthetical citations) and in a bibliography at the end of your paper (References or Works Cited lists). For an introduction to citation styles, try this Citing Information Module<\/a> from UNC.\"citing\"<\/a>Ask your instructor which citation style you should use. The most common citation styles are: APA for social sciences; MLA for humanities; CSE (formerly CBE) for sciences; and Chicago for publishing in humanities and social sciences.<\/p>\n

In each of the Gaston College Libraries, you\u2019ll find the current editions of citation manuals in the reference section. You may check out older editions of the APA, MLA, and Chicago manuals. Please see a librarian to find the guide for you.<\/p>\n
