The Gaston College NC Career Coach Program is a grant-funded collaboration between the two local education agencies served by Gaston College, the College administration and faculty, and the business communities of Gaston and Lincoln counties. The Career Coach Program employs an individualized advising model that includes 2 full-time Career Coaches, stationed on-site at area high schools. These Career Coaches provide outreach, career advising, and academic advising services to high school students.

Career Coach Program

Working at designated Lincoln and Gaston County public high schools and in collaboration with School Counselors and Career Development Coordinators, the role of the Career Coach is to assist students in determining career goals and identifying programs to achieve these goals.

Mission

The Career Coach Program seeks to promote skills and knowledge that will assist students in making career-minded course selections and better match students’ interests and passions with local community employment opportunities. They seek to do so through increased participation in North Carolina’s Career Technical Education and the Career and College Promise program.

Every career has many paths.
