By taking these classes, not only was I able to earn college credit, but I was also able to better prepare for my college experience for next year.

Huskins course was how the teacher treated us like people and not kids. She talked to us like adults and expected us to act like one. I think the Huskins Program is a great opportunity to prepare high school students for college and earn college credit early on, even before graduation.

Huskins courses through Gaston College. Thanks to the program, I have already acquired 15 credits, which will transfer to my college. The lecture style teaching has also been beneficial for preparing for instructors in college. High school students rarely experience a college-like atmosphere before having to pay and the Huskins Program allows students to get a true feel for college while earning college credit and saving money.
College Gateway Program at Gaston College was awesome. I took the Psychology course and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Since I am a senior, I cannot take anymore of the courses, but if I had it to do over again, I would take as many as I could. It is a great program because it allows high school students to gain college credit without the expense. I am glad that I was able to take this course and I encourage all who are able to do so as well.
learned so much more in this college course than I would have in AP. Ms. Elliott is an excellent instructor and always leaves time for those one on one questions. She has helped me “get my feet wet” in a college course and is continuing to prepare me for my future courses.
