1.  How can I retrieve my WebAdvisor User ID?

A.  From the WebAdvisor Main Menu, click on What is my User ID?.  You will be directed to the What’s my User ID? screen.  In order to retrieve your User ID, you must fill in your last name and one of the two additional identifying numbers (i.e. your SSN or College ID).

2. What is my initial WebAdvisor Password?

A. The initial default password is your birthday in a MMDDYY format.  You will be required to change it during your initial Login.

3.  How can I retrieve my WebAdvisor Password?

A.   From the WebAdvisor Main Menu, click on What is my Password?.  You will be directed to the What’s my password screen.  Select one of the options provided and follow the instructions.

A.  You can sign into your faculty/staff e-mail at

A.  NEW EMPLOYEES:  Please contact your supervisor for your initial User Name and Password.

3.  What username and password do I use to access my faculty/staff email for the first time?

A.  NEW EMPLOYEES:  Please contact your supervisor for your initial User Name and Password.

4.  How do I change employee email password through the web.

A. See sequence of answers below.

  • You may use any browser except Internet Explorer.
  • If your password needs changing, a window will prompt you to do so. (See below.)

Outlook Web App

  • Domain user name:  gastonusername
  • Current password:  The password you just used to login
  • New Password:  Your new password must be significantly different than the last 10 passwords, at least 8 digits long and contain 3 different types of characters (The acceptable characters are upper case, lower case, numbers, and symbols.)
  • Confirm new password
  • Click submit.
  • Close the browser.
  • Reopen the browser and access your email with your new password.


1.  What does the Network/Active Directory Login access?

A.  The Network/Active Directory Login ID provides access to campus computers, E-Mail, GCNet (Employees Only), GC wireless network and Helpdesk.

2.  What is my Network/Active Directory Login User Name?

A.  Your Network/Active Directory Login User Name is the same as your WebAdvisor User Name.

3.  How do I obtain my Network/Active Directory Login Password?

A.  Your Network/Active Directory password will be sent to your supervisor once set-up is complete.


1.  What is Print Management?

A.  Print Management is a service instituted by Gaston College to significantly lower the cost and environmental impact of printing in computer labs and the libraries.

2.  How do I obtain my username and password for printing?

A.  Your supervisor must complete a Print / Copier Access Form.

3.  What is the cost for printing?

A.  Black and White copies cost $.10 per copy and Color copies cost $.35 per copy.

4.  How am I charged?

A.  Each month departmental deans receive a report for their departments and an invoice sent to Accounts Payable.

5.  Who should I talk to regarding issues/concerns with printing?

A.  Any questions concerning charges, technical and non-technical matters, contact the Technology Services Office by phone at (704)-922-6420 or in person in the Comer Engineering Technology Building, room 11.

6.  How do I print to any Toshiba copier?
