Dear Students and Prospective Students,

Welcome to Gaston College!  We are the college of choice for students ranging from 16 to 89 years of age.  We offer a wide range of 90+ quality academic programs.  We offer an array of associate degrees (2-year), certificates (1 year) and diplomas (<1 year) in health sciences, business, information technology, engineering technology, industrial technology, and liberal arts & sciences (transfer programs).  Our technical and vocational programs prepare students to enter the workforce immediately.  Our largest credit program is our college transfer program that is designed to be the first two years of a four-year baccalaureate degree accepted at any public, senior institution in NC, many private colleges, and many out of state colleges.

A recent survey of business and industry leaders in this region showed that 90% of the employees they will hire in the next 10 years will have more formal education than a high school degree but less formal education than a bachelor’s degree.  Employers are looking for “skill sets” in their new workforce, and these skill sets are taught in credit programs at community colleges like Gaston College.  Our advisors and counselors will help you find your way through the program that is best for you and your future employment.

How satisfied are our graduates with our college programs?  A recent survey of students completing a program showed a 98% satisfaction rating.  How satisfied are employers with the work performance of our graduates?  Another recent survey of employers showed a 96% satisfaction rating on the performance of our graduates.  We have a first class faculty who cares about the success of our students, and it shows!
