Art Curriculum The Associate of Arts, pre-major in Art Education, degree program is for students who are preparing for a teaching career. This major provides students with their first two years of coursework in art foundations and general college requirements and prepares them for transfer to a university bachelor degree program. |

*Required ART Courses (15 SHC): ART 114 Art History Survey I (3), ART 115 Art History Survey II (3), ART 121 Design I (3), ART 122 Design II (3), ART 131 Drawing I (3). Electives: 11 additional hours of approved college transfer courses are required. To satisfy this requirement, at least three of the following courses are recommended. ART 132 Drawing II (3), ART 171 Computer Art I (3), ART 231 Printmaking I (3), ART 212 Gallery Assistantship I (1), ART 214 Portfolio and Resume (1), ART 240 Painting I (3), ART 247 Jewelry I (3), ART 261 Photography I (3), ART 281 Sculpture I (3), ART 283 Ceramics I (3) Students must meet the receiving university's foreign language and/or health and physical education requirements, if applicable, prior to or after transfer to the senior institution.
