Cooperative Education
All business AAS degree programs now offer the opportunity for students to earn college credit toward their degree while simultaneously getting related work experience. Co-op classes are electives that students may take to combine work knowledge with specific learning objectives associated to topics found in normal business degree classes. Students may even take co-op classes without having a job! For more information on these "work and learn" classes, please contact your advisor or call the College co-op office at 704-922-6212.

AA or AAS?
For students interested in getting their associates degree in business - there are two options. First, if you desire a bachelor's (four-year) degree in business administration you must follow the course requirements from the Arts and Sciences Division. Their degree programs are designed to be fully transferred to a four-year university and contain only a few business courses. You may major in an Associate of Arts (AA) in Pre-Business (A1010B) or Pre-Business Marketing & Education (A1010C). For more information on the transfer AA degrees, please contact the Arts and Sciences Division at 704-922-6311.
Second, if you desire an Associate of Applied Science degree (AAS) in Business Administration then you should follow the requirements from the Business and Information Technology Division. This two-year degree contains only a few liberal arts courses with the majority of your studies focused in business courses. Additionally, students may concentrate their studies in human resources or logistics management. Although this degree is not designed to be fully transferred to a four-year university, some credits may transfer. For instance, the Gardner-Webb University GOAL program and East Carolina University's Distribution and Logistics degree are two programs where you have an opportunity to use your AAS degree towards a bachelor's degree.
