Gaston College Annual Health Fair on May 5th

The annual Gaston College Health Fair promotes health and wellness, nutrition, and educational programs, and features a variety of health assessments and services, interactive exhibits, free samples, and other activities.

This year’s event takes place on Thursday, May 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Myers Center Breezeway on the Gaston College Dallas Campus. The Health Fair is open to the public and admission is free.

Student Massage imageAttendees can get free chair massages, blood pressure checks, hand massage and paraffin treatments, fitness assessments, vision screenings, and diabetes screenings, and can participate in nutrition and body composition consultation activities. Fitness experts will be on hand to help individuals develop a fun and practical routine for regular physical exercise. All are welcome to join the Zumba Dance Party. Total and HDL cholesterol screenings are available at a fee of $10.00 per person.

Dr. Jodi Zieverink, Adjunct Faculty in Health Promotions, is coordinating the 2016 Gaston College Health Fair. “Good health and good sense are two of life’s greatest blessings,” said Zieverink. “The Gaston College Health Fair will cover all aspects of physical and mental wellness through engaging, interactive exhibits that will appeal to students and individuals who are interested in improving their health and well-being or who may have questions about related issues. We’ll have something for everyone.”
