| Gaston College Libraries Announce Book Shower for East Campus Library |
Community Colleges across the state have suffered devastating funding cuts due to the state of the economy in North Carolina. The Library is no exception. Gaston College Libraries' book budget has been cut by 30 percent this year, just as we are getting ready to open our new library at the East Campus in Belmont, NC.
Because of limited funds to purchase books for the East Campus library, Dr. Harry Cooke, Director of Libraries, and Dr. Joe Keith, Dean, East Campus and Textile Technology Center, have partnered to sponsor a book shower.
Members of the community may purchase books or donate "gently used" books for consideration to be added to our East Campus Library collection. When books are purchased, the Gaston College Foundation will send a letter to the donor to use for tax purposes.

The mobile bookstore in downtown Belmont, NC (hours - usually Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 10:00 am till 5:00 pm), will order books, keep a list of donors, put a nameplate in the book, and notify the library when the book comes in.
