ABC-CLIO Ebook Collection [PRIMARY]

The ABC-CLIO Ebook Collection is a collection of complete all searchable by keyword, subject, author, title, or any Boolean search method. It includes the series Daily Life Through History, Critical Companions to Popular Contemporary Authors, Historic Events of the 20th Century, Literature in Context, as well as American Slavery: A Composite Autobiography.



Academic Search Complete [HISTORY]

Multi-disciplinary full text database containing full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including more than 3,600 peer-reviewed publications. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for nearly 8,200 journals in the collection. This scholarly collection offers information in nearly every area of academic study including: computer sciences, engineering, physics, chemistry, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, ethnic studies, and many more. Academic Search Premier offers peer-reviewed full text journals and critical information from many sources unique to this database.

Coverage: Indexing for more than 8,000 publications, with full text for nearly 4,500 of those titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available.



American Slavery: A Composite Autobiography [HISTORY]

A collection of the life histories of former slaves in the United States compiled through nearly 4,000 interviews with ex-slaves.



Biography Reference Center [HISTORY]

Biography Reference Center offers a comprehensive collection of more than 461,000 full-text biographies, including the complete full-text run of Biography Today and Biography, as well as thousands of narrative biographies that are not available in other databases. In addition to keyword searching, users can also locate biographies of interest by browsing more than 30 genre categories, including actors, authors, composers, explorers, figures relevant to U.S. & world history, inventors, musicians, Presidents of the United States, current world leaders and many others



Digital NC [HISTORY]

DigitalNC is the online home for materials presented by the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center. DigitalNC and the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center are supported by Library Services and Technology Act funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Cultural Resources.

Currently Digital NC contains historical information from Gaston College.

North American Women's Letters and Diaries [HISTORY]

Over 150,000 pages of published letters and diaries plus 4,000 pages of previously unpublished materials depicting the personal experiences of hundreds of women.

Coverage: Contains materials from Colonial times to 1950.



PBS Video Collection [HISTORY]

A selection of nearly 250 PBS programs, including films from award winning documentarian Ken Burns, and series such as Scientific American Frontiers, American Experience, and Frontline. These videos are available using video stream and require Adobe Flash Player Version 9.0 or higher.



Sanborn Maps - North Carolina [HISTORY]

Sanborn Maps for the state of North Carolina provides digital access to 11,173 large-scale maps of 158 North Carolina towns and cities. Users have the ability to easily manipulate the maps, magnify and zoom in on specific sections, and compare maps from different years.



Statistical Abstract of the United States [GENERAL]
The Statistical Abstract of the United States provides statistical tables and charts covering various aspects of social, political and economic life. Although the emphasis is on the United States, some tables cover regions, states, cities, and comparative international statistics. Information for the product is gathered from all agencies of the federal government and from private, commercial, and professional sources.
