Learning Center

Our Mission

The Gaston College Learning Center exists to help students of the College pursue their educational goals and develop into intellectually mature persons. Students are served along a broad continuum, ranging from one tutoring session to a combination of ongoing multiple forms of support.

Gaston College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Program Goal

• To help students become more independent, self-confident, proficient learners.
  
• To provide a safe and proper academic environment for the students of Gaston College.
  
• To provide quality peer tutoring to help students achieve their fullest academic potential.
  
• To provide ongoing training and certification for peer tutors.
  
• To provide community outreach tutoring services to area elementary schools.
