Gaston College Student Government Association Kicks-Off Food Drive For Salvation Army

The SGA in conjunction with the Gaston College Morris Library is collecting canned goods for the Salvation Army. The library is offering amnesty on any overdue book fees with the presentation of a canned good. Constitution Day Award Winners

Three Gaston College students have been selected as winners of the U.S. Constitution Day Essay Contest sponsored by the Student Government Association (SGA). Contestants were required to write a 250 words or less essay about the theme “Tell us about your love for our country.” Three prizes were awarded to winners of the contest, Nicole Dagenhardt, 1st for $100; Patricia Puett, 2nd for $75; and Venus Osborne, 3rd for $50.

Nominations Sought For The 2008 Altrusa Award Recognizing Gaston College Employees

Do you know an outstanding Faculty or Staff Member? Nominate him or her for the Gaston College Altrusa Award for Excellence.

Gaston College in collaboration with The Altrusa Club of Gastonia is seeking nominations for the 2008 Altrusa Award of Excellence. The award, which carries a cash prize, recognizes Gaston College employees who personify the mission of the college, who have made a significant contribution to the educational success of students, and demonstrate the ideal of lifelong learning through their life both on and off campus. Scholarship Applications for 2008-2009 Are Now Available

Gaston College is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year. A variety of scholarships totaling more than $100,000 in assistance is available to students through the Gaston College Foundation. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they apply. Scholarship awards can range from $250 to more than $2,500 each through the Gaston College Foundation.
