General Information

Gaston College is a publicly supported, open door, comprehensive community college organized and chartered to be of service to the people of Gaston and Lincoln counties and the state of North Carolina. The mission of Gaston College is to provide high quality education programs and services to the citizens of Gaston and Lincoln counties.

The College shall comply with existing federal and state laws and regulations. The College prohibits discrimination against and/or exclusion from participation in any benefits or activities by any person, either on the staff and faculty or in the student body, on the grounds of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, age, or handicap. While some positions may require particular physical strength or dexterity when physical impairments could interfere with the orderly processes of instruction or employment, such exceptions shall be dealt with on an individual basis and must be approved by the Board of Trustees on recommendation of the President. In addition, the College expresses strong disapproval of discrimination on the basis of sex, such discrimination being a violation of the law and of Board policy.
