Network/PC/AV Technician, Full-Time Temporary, No Benefits

Minimum Qualifications  •Associate degree in a related technology field required. •Three years experience providing PC, audio-visual, and multi-media support in education or business/industry required. •Climbing, bending, crawling, and lifting up to 50 pounds required. Job Description  Provide media technology assistance and support to faculty/staff. Perform technical work in diagnosing and troubleshooting PCs, printers, audio-visual equipment, and communication network equipment. Perform installation and maintenance of PC hardware, software, and audio-visual equipment. Maintain media production area. Maintain Myers Center Auditorium control room. Work closely with faculty/staff to provide audiovisual services. Report to the Director of Networking. Work collaboratively with College faculty, staff, students, and other resource people outside the College in identifying and responding to information system and audio-visual needs and priorities. Diagnose and troubleshoot computers (desktop and laptop), printers, and audio-visual equipment involving hardware, software, and/or network problems. Install new PC hardware and software and troubleshoot hardware/software problems at all college sites. Research and keep abreast of new and emerging technology in order to support planning and decision making. Research new hardware and software for compatibility with existing hardware and/or network. Respond to service requests on audio-visual equipment (such as overhead projectors, lcd projectors, document cameras, sound systems). Provide technical support for the College instructional labs/classrooms and faculty/staff desktops, laptops, and audio-visual equipment, servers, and other computer-related hardware and applications. Assist PC Technicians, Network Specialist, and Distance Education Visual Specialist in providing technical support for College network, hardware and software, and other information systems. Work collaboratively with Technology Services staff members to develop team cross-training opportunities and knowledge sharing. Identify and implement improvements to maximize effective and efficient use of resources. Provide local support for both wired and wireless networks, and data and voice networks. Work with vendors to obtain quotes. Maintain inventory records of location of equipment, status of repairs, etc. Perform other duties as assigned to support the purpose and initiatives of the College.

Development Officer/Executive Director-Gaston College Foundation

Minimum Qualifications  •Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred. •At least seven years of experience in public or private major gift fundraising from individuals required. •Documented history of significant fundraising. •Knowledge of rules and regulations governing operation of 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. •Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as negotiation skills required. •Broad knowledge of computer applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, donor/gift tracking) required. Job Description  In collaboration with the President, Executive Council, Board of Trustees, and Foundation Board, lead, develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive and strategic Development plan in support of the College's mission. Generate new ideas and business opportunities to increase fundraising and fund development to meet and/or exceed revenue goals. Identify private and public donors and prospects, other potential funding sources, and take the initiative to build and maintain profitable, long-term fundraising relationships with current and potential donors. Supervise the Director of Grants and Special Projects and assist with preparing grants, project proposals, and progress reports as needed. Develop an annual and ongoing fundraising plan and budget. Maintain the College's ongoing fundraising program, Friends of Gaston College, and other gift revenue programs. Enlist the assistance and support of the College community (e.g., President, Executive Council, Board of Trustees, Foundation Board and faculty and staff) to participate in Development-related activities as needed. Coordinate the establishment of endowments, annual scholarships, planned gifts, grants, and other contributions. Monitor the program, track and document all necessary activities, and complete all reporting requirements. Submit documents and reports in a timely manner to meet stated deadlines. Identify and prioritize opportunities for special fundraising activities as needed or requested. Develop revenue and expense reports for all fundraising activities upon completion. Maintain a master file of donors with pertinent data that includes a record of gifts to the College. Exercise oversight for timely, accurate, and thorough gift receiving, reporting, and acknowledgement of operations of the Foundation. Develop and maintain programs and activities of the Foundation through proactive marketing and public relations initiatives to advance the mission of the College, including publication of the Foundation Newsletter. Serve as legislative liaison at the local, state, and federal levels. Provide strategic communications support to the President and to the organization that includes speech writing, presentations, talking points, scripts, and other communications, as needed. Provide administrate support for the management of the Foundation's investment portfolio. Formulate Foundation-related policies and procedures as needed. Recruit members to serve on the Foundation board as needed. Other duties as assigned, including special projects.

Minimum Qualifications  •Associate degree required; associate degree in police science, criminal justice, or related field preferred. •The associate degree requirement may be waived if the applicant has been awarded the Advanced Certificate by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission (Advanced Certificate must be submitted with application.) •Completion of North Carolina BLET required. •North Carolina Certified Law Enforcement Officer required. •Minimum of two years law enforcement experience required. •Must have a clean criminal history and possess a valid driver’s license with no DUI. •Moderate physical labor may be required on occasion and working outside in adverse weather conditions is common. •Must be capable of walking up and down flights of stairs and walking for extended periods of time. •Must be able to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts. Job Description  Provide a safe and secure campus environment through enforcement of applicable laws, statutes, and policies. Support the college mission through cooperation with faculty, staff, and students. Must be able to work at all Gaston College campuses as necessary (Dallas, Belmont, and Lincolnton, NC. Monitor buildings and grounds for suspicious activity; safeguard college property from theft and damage through routine patrol; ensure that required doors and windows are locked; unlock and lock doors as needed. Protect faculty, staff, students, visitors, and their property through crisis and conflict intervention. Provide assistance to off-site facilities. Ensure safe travel throughout campus by directing traffic during peak periods and emergencies; reserving parking spaces for special events; keeping lots and thoroughfares unobstructed. Assist in emergencies such as fire evacuations, medical emergencies, weather emergencies, and bomb threats. Provide security and assistance during special events. Investigate suspicious, illegal, or unauthorized activities that occur on campus. Make reports and conduct investigations on vehicle accidents, missing or stolen property, vandalism, or any other criminal activity. Answer calls for services for disabled vehicles, escort services, bank deposits and pick-ups, and issue parking violations. Assist in training of new department personnel. Be alert for conditions which may be unsafe or cause physical harm to individuals on campus and make whatever corrections or notifications necessary to correct the situation immediately, or as soon as possible. Perform duties specified in any special orders or requests from supervisors.
