This program introduces participants to the skills needed to perform a variety of duties required for effective maintenance of apartments and other commercial applications. Topics covered include basic carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, drywall, minor HVAC and other mechanical systems for the purpose of maintaining, repairing or remodeling buildings and facilities. Successful completion will result in participants receiving a Building Maintenance Certification from Gaston College.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Possess mechanical ability
  • Tenth-grade reading level preferred
  • Hepatitis B vaccine (required before plumbing course)
