About Us

Philosophy of the Program

  • Quality childcare encourages a child's social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
  • We seek to foster a positive self-image in every child.
  • We believe that discipline is for the purpose of developing self-discipline.
  • We believe that young children learn best in concrete ways by exploring, experimenting and manipulating materials in an environment designed for the purpose of stimulating optimum development.
  • We recognize and appreciate children's individual differences, learning styles, and developmental stages through developmentally appropriate experiences and safe, challenging classrooms.
  • We recognize and appreciate that children's first teachers are their parents. We believe in supporting children and their families to meet their needs and achieve their goals.
  • We believe that all people and all families have strengths.
  • All families need and deserve support. The type and degree of support each family needs varies throughout the life span

Goals of the Program

For the children...

To promote the growth of social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of each child enrolled; to create a nurturing environment where children are challenged to reach their potential; where children are encouraged to express their feelings, care about others, develop positive images about themselves and their environment and become their own problem solvers. The goals of our program will be accomplished by offering a well-rounded and carefully planned curriculum of learning experiences through music, creative art, dramatic play, science and math concepts, block building, manipulative and outdoor play supervised by highly trained and experienced staff.

For the parents...

To promote an environment that supports and encourages parents to grow in the most rewarding and important job they do: being a parent. This will be accomplished by distributing information about child development, conducting workshops, bulletin boards, parent-teacher conferences, referrals to outside sources, and dedicated staff who are always willing to give a helping hand.

For the staff...

To create a stimulating environment, facilitate learning experiences, be a nurturer and cooperate with parents in sharing the responsibility for the growth and development of their children. These goals will be accomplished by creating a warm, loving and creative environment; planning and implementing age appropriate activities so each child can grow socially, physically, emotionally, and intellectually. All staff will be encouraged and supported to grow professionally in the areas of child development through continuing education, seminars, and workshops; and working with parents to create continuity in the life of the child's development.

For the community...

To involve families, the college, agencies, and organizations in the community, enabling them to become aware of and actively involved with children's issues, appropriate child development practices, and quality childcare.
