TEAS Vet-Tech
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is given to students applying to the Gaston CollegeVeterinary Medical Technology program. Students are required to wait 30 days before retesting and are allowed to take the TEAS twice in an application period. 
Applications for the fall 2013 semester will be accepted from the first Monday in October to the third Friday in April.
Students are required to score 50 or higher on the Math section and a 57 or higher on the Reading section of TEAS.
The TEAS is taken on a computer and your test is scored immediately upon completion. The fee required for taking the TEAS test is $35. Students applying to the Vet- Tech program are required to take the Math and Reading sections of the TEAS only. Calculators are not permitted on the Math section of the test. The sections are timed:
Reading- 40 questions-50 minutes
Math-45 questions-56 minutes
PLEASE GO TO www.atitesting.com and sign up for your username and password. You will need to have this completed before the test.

TEAS PREPARATION WORKSHOPS
TEAS workshops are now available to help improve your knowledge about the content areas covered on TEAS, provide some strategies to reduce test-taking anxiety, and to increase your overall score on the exam. Steps Required to Register for TEAS:
- Go to the Gaston College Business Office (on the Dallas or Lincoln campus) and pay $35. Make sure to tell the cashier that you are paying for the TEAS.

*Effective July 1, 2013 the fee for TEAS will increase to $40 and the fee to have a TEAS transcript sent to another institution will increase to $25. Gaston College does not send official TEAS scores to other institutions, you must request your scores to be sent through ATI's website: www.atitesting.com

If you are on the Dallas campus, take your receipt to the Katherine Harper Testing Center,Room 209, (on the 2nd floor of theCraig Arts & Science Building) and see the Receptionist to schedule an appointment.
If you are on the Lincoln campus, take your receipt to the Counselor on the second floor of the Main Building, Room 209B, in order to schedule an appointment.
You will not be registered for the test until you have completed Step #2! Once you have scheduled an appointment, you will be given a basic information sheet about the test.
*The registration deadline for any session is 5:00 PM on the day before that session.
*All TEAS sessions will be held on the Dallas campus on the second floor of the Craig Arts & Science Building in the Katherine Harper Testing Center (Room 209.)
