TEAS ADN or LPN-RN
The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is given to students applying to the Gaston College Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)or the LPN-RN Program.
A composite score of 65 is required on TEAS V (Version 5) for students applying to the ADN or LPN-RN Program. Students can take TEAS every 60 days in order to meet the score requirement. The nursing department will not consider TEAS test scores if the test was taken at another TEAS testing site within 60 days.
The test is taken on a computer and is scored immediately upon completion. The fee required for taking the test is $35. Calculators are not permitted during the test. The TEAS has four timed sections:
Reading- 48 questions-58 minutes
Math-34 questions-51 minutes
Science-54 questions-66 minutes
English-34 questions-34 minutes
******All four sections of the TEAS must be completed**. Some schools (such as ECPI) only administer two sections of the test and the Nursing Department will not accept partial TEAS scores.
