NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION

All new students must complete New Student Orientation.

Students enrolling at Gaston College must complete New Student Orientation prior to attending an advising session and receiving clearance for registration. (Exceptions are made for those students enrolling as Huskins/College Gateway, Dual-Enrollment students, and previously enrolled Gaston College students.) Students with Huskins or Dual Enrollment college credit who now plan to enroll in college since graduating from high school are required to complete New Student Orientation.) Sessions are offered online and in person on the Dallas and Lincoln campuses.

The purpose of Orientation is to help ensure the academic success of our students by providing information on student resources, college polices and procedures, and college publications. New students who are exempted from the placement test will receive orientation information in the mail.  Students who complete the placement test will receive this information immediately following their testing session.  If you have questions regarding New Student Orientation, contact the Office of Admissions at (704)922-6214.
